Pelmatography

Pelmatography refers to the process of recording and analysing the pressure exerted by the foot on the ground during gait or deployment. It is used to identify foot-related conditions, such as flatfoot, foot or forefoot dysfunction and other musculoskeletal conditions; it can also be used to analyse gait data and assess balance.
In static testing, the programme processes the percentage distribution of body weight. It measures angles useful for orthopaedic assessment, mapping the foot in 3D.
This test reveals conditions such as flatfoot, bellyfoot, and helps diagnostically in painful foot syndromes (metatarsalgia, plantar fasciitis, hyperextension syndromes).
The study of how the foot is loaded also helps us to understand tendon pathology.

When it is recommended
For people with sporting activities in order to achieve optimal dynamic performance and at the same time reduce sports injuries of the lower limbs. People who, due to their daily activities, feel their legs are heavy and tired. People with incorrect posture and gait.
In addition, it is recommended in the evaluation of the surgical result of reconstructive operations on the lower limbs (hip and knee arthroplasty, etc.).
The palmarogram examination is painless, lasts a few minutes, is low cost and is performed by appointment by a qualified orthopaedic surgeon.
What can we detect and improve with the palatogram examination :
-Pain in the legs or knees
-Difficulties in walking
-Fatigue after walking or exercise
-unexplained injuries
-People who are planning to take up sport and wish to
want to improve their performance
-diabetes mellitus or other conditions affecting circulation
in the lower limbs
-Metarsalgia
-Morton's neuroma
-Annisoscelia
-Bellows flatulence
- Heel spur
- Scoliosis
-Congestive hip dislocation
-Diabetes mellitus (Diabetic foot)
-Rheumatoid arthritis
-Degenerative arthritis of the joints of the foot, hip and knee
The procedure of palmatography is non-invasive. The patient is placed on a special platform or walks on an electronic recording device. The pressures and contacts of the foot with the ground are recorded. The data is analyzed to identify any abnormalities.
